You Are Not A Worrier But A Warrior

Rejoice in the Lord always: and again I say, Rejoice. Let your moderation be known unto all men. The Lord is at hand. Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:4-7

Too much of anything isn’t good—for instance, too much ministry, too much work, too much junk food, too much sleep, too many sweets, and so on. And too much worry, stress, and anxiety isn’t good for either the soul or the body. But these things can sometimes distract us, keep our eyes off Jesus, and make us forget that we are not victims but victors!

Philippians 4:4-7 reminds us that we are to be full of joy in the LORD always! It may be difficult to be joyful, especially when you are worried or stressed about something, but it all begins with the mind. What our minds are set on, we manifest through our actions, gestures, and words. That is why we are to set our minds on the Word of God daily, for our minds need renewal every day. The more we read God’s Word, the more the Holy Spirit can communicate with us and remind us of our identity in Christ.

Philippians 4:6 says that we are not to worry about anything at all. Worry shouldn’t be part of who we are as new creations in Christ, for we are no longer slaves to fear since we have a heavenly Father to Whom we can always cry for help (Galatians 4:7 Wherefore thou art no more a servant, but a son; and if a son, then an heir of God through Christ.). It is no longer normal for a Christian to worry because we now live by faith in He Who is faithful in all things. Instead of worrying, we pray to God, telling Him about the things we need, the things that matter to us, the things that bother us, and, of course, we pray in thanksgiving! When we don’t understand what is happening, we are no longer driven to worry but driven to pray. And as we do, we know that God’s peace will be our strength to keep moving forward. We no longer shrink when the enemy comes to attack us, for we are more than conquerors; we are on the offensive and violent against the Kingdom of darkness.

Sometimes, we just have to be reminded of who we are through God’s Word. When you remember that you are not a worrier but you are God’s warrior, then the atmosphere begins to shift, and you will even witness that miracles and favor are on your side.

So, what do you have to say about the things that worry you? Who again do you say you are in Christ?
