And when David enquired of the Lord, he said, Thou shalt not go up; but fetch a compass behind them, and come upon them over against the mulberry trees. In the preceding article, Are You Waiting for God’s Outpouring When He’s Actually Waiting on You?, we learned that most Christians are waiting for God’s move, not realizing that we are the move of God. God is waiting for us to be fully revealed as His sons and daughters in all creation. From the Old Testament times until today, God’s people often haven’t realized that God’s speaking to them is the answer to their prayer for revival, transformation, and awakening as the lost Bride of Jesus Christ. And just like the people in the Bible, most of us don’t have the confidence to do what God is asking us to do. We don’t realize that we will definitely do it because it is the Spirit of Christ in us Who will enable us.

David was a special man before God. Most of the time, he too waited on the LORD’s promises. But it was his attitude during the waiting period that made a difference. Often, while David was on the run for his life because of Saul, God used those moments to show David His faithfulness every time David inquired of the LORD as to what to do. What if David only waited for victory to come that day? What if he did not ask God what to do in his situation? Would he be able to make it on his own?

Sometimes, we can be put on the waiting list as we hope for the promises of God to come to pass. Sometimes, situations even seem to become the opposite of what we are hoping for. What if God is actually waiting for you to inquire of Him? What if God has an instruction for you regarding your situation? Being a son or daughter of the Living God, we cannot say that we don’t hear the Father speak, for He really does speak. Sometimes, it is us who won’t give time to listen to what the Father has to say, or maybe we are too busy doing something else.
