Living In Christ’s Victory

But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. 1 Corinthians 15:57

Are you that Christian who struggles with the battles of life every single day? Do you wake up in the morning, crying out to God to help you overcome emotional, spiritual, and mental battles? Do you feel like you have been victimized by the injustices committed by others?

As Christians, we aren’t supposed to fight for anything that has already been given to us—health, wealth, and the victory that is already in Christ Jesus. Yet sometimes, we think that in order for us to win something or be victorious in this life, we must do certain things. Otherwise, we will be defeated.

For instance, many Christians read the Bible so that they will be able to defeat the enemy. In reality, the enemy has already been defeated. We read the Word of God not because our goal is to win over the enemy. Our aim is to soak ourselves in the Words of our Father and Lord Jesus Christ so that we may know who we really are in Him. We read to renew our mind and continuously align our thinking with Christ because we have lived for such a long time following the ways and patterns of the world.

You are not a victim of anything or anyone. You are already a champion in Christ. That’s why life challenges you in all aspects. A champion wouldn’t be called a champ if there were no challengers. You already are victorious in Christ Jesus. When you have received Jesus Christ into your life and have a personal relationship with Him, you carry within you the victories that Christ Jesus has overcome. He said in John 16:33, “These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.” Jesus has already overcome this world, which means you already did through Christ! You just need to shift your perspective from living for victory to living from victory in Christ Jesus.

When you start to believe all battles have been won at the cross, you disempower the enemy and begin to disarm all negativity in your mind. When you begin to focus on the fact that the Spirit of Christ is living inside you and it is Him who gives you the victory in all things, then you will not be distracted in your race of faith. (Hebrews 12:1-2 Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us,  fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.) says that we are to continuously fix our eyes on Jesus to keep a victorious run in the race of faith. Thank the Father for giving us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
