Most of the Church wont agree with this but if you need your spouse or one God has called you with towards marriage to be something for you to be ok it is a form of idolatry. We Christians have been created to depend only on the Lord, He only is the fullness, so how can we find ourselves needing our spouses to be at a certain place or level in Christ for us to be able to move forward in life and in Christ ?
When we start to depend and look to our friends and they hurt us or do not meet up to our expectations, only then we find ourselves running to Jesus. When things are fine again we forget the friendship of Jesus or do not nurture that friendship as much as we do when we feel betrayed. Why should that be the case ?
Jesus clearly stated we the Church are to be the salt and light to the world. But Church fails to live every word that Jesus said and mixes itself with the culture it is in.
A lot of us think addressing the situations we find ourselves in in front of God is what will move God into action. No that’s called worrying. One can pray all night without faith and not get any prayer answered.
