Why You Need the Peace of God

The peace of God is for real and can be experienced by the believers. You can live a victorious life if you have the peace of God within you for Romans 16:20 says, “And the God of peace shall bruise Satan under your feet shortly.” We know that our lives as believers are not exempted from experiencing sufferings, trials, testing and even spiritual attacks from the enemies. Even the Son of God had experienced such things. This is the very reason why you need the peace of God. If you have God’s peace, putting your confidence in the One who created the heavens and the earth, then no waves or giants can push you down.

Philippians 4:6-7, “Be careful for nothing; but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.”

The Apostle Paul says in Philippians 4:6-7, “Be careful for nothing; but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.” He tells the believers how to experience the peace of God, which is by not worrying about anything and by simply praying to God for what you need and thanking Him.

If you don’t have the peace of God, you can become worried, stressed, and worked up so easily. When I was still a worldly person, I used to think that worrying for my family is normal. I thought that worrying is a sign that I actually care for them. Until one time, when I left home to get myself a job, I experienced a tremendous kind of peace that provided me good sleep and good health. I used to ask myself then if it was normal. I prayed to God, “Why am I not worried about anything God? Is something wrong with me?” Well, since I never read the Bible during those days, I never got the right answer until the moment I received Jesus Christ into my life and began to read God’s Word. I realized I had actually believed in so many lies and ideas.

If you can relate to this, if you are worried or anxious about anything at all in your life, simply come to God in prayer. Tell Him all things that you are worried about. You can list them down so that your mind won’t wander and back again to worrying. Specifically state all your worries to the LORD and thank Him for what He will do. After that, let go of the things that keeps you worry. Leave it to the hands of God who surely won’t ever fail you! Then, you will experience the peace of God.

Prayer:

Heavenly Father,

Thank you for the air that I am breathing. And even as I breathe, you know my thoughts and the worries in my heart. Here are the things that I am worried about (mention them). I put all these matters into Your hands. I am not capable of fixing these on my own, but You my God, I know You can because You are the Creator of heaven and the earth. If you are able to raise Lazarus from the dead, then I believe that you can do changes in my life as well. Thank You for what You will do, Father. I trust in You, in Jesus mighty name, Amen!
