Nothing Is Impossible To Those Who Believe
Through faith also Sara herself received strength to conceive seed, and was delivered of a child when she was past age, because she judged him faithful who had promised.(Hebrews 11:11 And by faith even Sarah, who was past childbearing age, was enabled to bear children because she[a] considered him faithful who had made the promise.)
Sometimes, God’s dreams for us are way bigger than our faith can handle. Just think of Sarah, Abraham’s wife, who laughed when God told her she would conceive a child even in her old age. Our Heavenly Father can shock us sometimes when He speaks to us and tells us of His plans because our minds think they are too impossible.
What you think about God’s promises or plans actually doesn’t matter. But your everyday choices and decisions will affect the outcome of this promise. When we study the life of Abraham and Sarah, we know that God gave them a promise that seemed impossible to even comprehend. Sarah at first made her own way by letting her husband sleep with their servant Agar in order for God’s promise of making Abraham a father of the nation come to pass.
We can be like this sometimes when we don’t fully understand God. We can make our own way and mess up. Yet in Hebrews 11:11, Sarah repented by judging God to be faithful in His promises, and from that point on, she received the strength to conceive. All we need sometimes is to change the way we think. When we begin to see God, who can do the impossible, who is able, and who is faithful in all things, we can then begin to receive the promises He has for us. We begin to receive the impossible as we lean on God and trust in all of His ways.
Sarah was remembered for her great faith in God, for she was able to conceive in her old age, which in the natural state is so impossible. But God is the one who makes all things possible, especially to the man who believes. Jesus said in Mark 9:23, “If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth.”
