WALKING IN THE LOVE OF GOD – TAMAS ERDOS (JGLM)

People have hurt us and do hurt us, but why are we taking it so personal if we have died to the old nature ? The logic is pretty simple, in Christ we have been made brand new creation and it is also no longer we who live but Christ who lives through us. So if we are taking things personal that only shows we are still identifying with the old man who died by Jesus’ death because it was the old nature which was corrupted with lusts , had dominion of sin over it and was all about selfish ambitions. We as Christians have been called to identify only with Jesus and Him living in us which is possible because we have been made new by His resurrection. Why continue to give ourselves to the old nature when we have already died to it? Often times it does not seem so automatic to act according to the new nature because our minds are not renewed to this truth. Therefore we must constantly keep looking at Jesus’ life and model after Him, because what was not found in His life cannot be found in us. Jesus was deliberately rejected, hurt, tortured, humiliated, betrayed,devalued by people He called His own. Remember that!Our reactions should be so automatic that when people hurt or do wrong to us we should not even be able to see that and instead so see the value of the person infront of us.
