HOW CAN CHRISTIANS ACKNOWLEDGE GOD IN ALL OF LIFE’S SITUATIONS?

“In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight.” (Proverbs 3:6 NIV) This is what the Bible has to say about acknowledging GOD. In all our ways, we have to acknowledge GOD; but how? What is acknowledgement? It is acceptance of the truth or existence of something. So basically, acknowledging GOD means accepting the truth that GOD is, and accepting the existence of GOD.

In our daily life, we Christians have all the chances to acknowledge GOD. As we wake up, if we accept that GOD exists and He gave us a new day, we can thank GOD for giving us the new day. That is acknowledging GOD. If we accept the truth that the day and its activities are blessed and we are protected by GOD against sin, then we can pray to God to keep us away from sins throughout the day.

GOD openly declared that Christians will be persecuted just for acknowledging GOD. “Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of me. Rejoice and be glad, because great is your reward in heaven, for in the same way they persecuted the prophets who were before you (Matthew 5: 11, 12 NIV). As we acknowledge the GOD, and we follow Him, people will not like us. Because the world did not like the savior, His prophets and it will not like His followers; that’s us, Christians.

Jesus said so plainly about false acknowledgement of GOD. We can show others that we are godly people, but GOD knows us from the inside. We can make all kinds of shows, so that people will say we are incredibly Biblical and so Christian in our approach. We can make an absolute Christian appearance by going to church every day and praying with all kinds of nice sentences. You know what GOD will say at the end? I don’t know you!

“Many will say to me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name and in your name drive out demons and in your name perform many miracles?’ 23 Then I will tell them plainly, ‘I never knew you; Away from me, you evildoers!” (Matthew 7: 22, 23 NIV). That is so sad to know. So acknowledging GOD is not by showing up in the public; it should be by knowing Him at heart. Jesus loved us. We can acknowledge Him by loving someone we never knew; someone that never knew us! It is our unconditional obedience to the scriptures that will make us acknowledge GOD as Christians.
