GOD IS RIGHTEOUS AND JUST

The best place in the Bible where we can see how much GOD is just for the righteous is in Genesis where Sodom and Gomorrah was destroyed. Abraham was informed by GOD that He was going to destroy the city. Abraham started requesting GOD for the sake of the righteous people in the city who could be destroyed along with the wicked. Abraham asks, “What if there are fifty righteous people in the city? Will you really sweep it away and not spare[e]the place for the sake of the fifty righteous people in it? 25 Far be it from you to do such a thing—to kill the righteous with the wicked, treating the righteous and the wicked alike. Far be it from you! Will not the Judge of all the earth do right?” The Lord said, “If I find fifty righteous people in the city of Sodom, I will spare the whole place for their sake” (Genesis 18: 24-26 NIV)
If you continue to read the story, you will find that Abraham was asking more and more until 10 righteous people in the city. GOD agreed that He will not destroy the city if there were at least 10 righteous people.

But unfortunately, there were no 10 righteous in the city. There was only one; Lot. GOD showed His righteousness by accompanying Lot to get out of the city before He destroyed it. That is GOD’s righteousness.
We cannot accuse GOD of killing those multitudes in those cities. GOD saved the man and his family who were not wicked. This man is certified as living amongst the wicked but not wicked.

Not just in the case of Lot; but in all occurrences, GOD is righteous and just. Starting from Adam, GOD has done only the right thing and He has been the perfect Judge. When Abel sacrificed the first fruits of his, GOD was just enough to bless him. When Cain did not want to offer the best to GOD, He was righteous to not to bless him. When it came for Cain to leave his land, GOD was again just enough to mark Cain on his forehead so that no one could kill him.

When hanging on the cross, our GOD was still righteous and accurately just. When Jesus prayed for the soldier who stabbed him, He was righteous. When Jesus promised the thief who repented at the last minutes of his life, He was just.
We sometimes tend to think that what GOD has done to us is not just enough; He could have done better for us. We are wrong. GOD knows what to do and when to do and for whom to do. He has been doing it for all humans for around 6000 years now. He has been doing it to the angels since they were created. Nobody is holy enough to comment on GOD’s justice and righteousness.
When we think that GOD is not righteous, or unjust, it is only us who have failed to be righteous or just; that’s why we see the Most High to be accused of something. It is only us that have to become righteous and just; GOD is already and will be forever and ever.
