No Longer A Slave but A Child of God

For you did not receive the spirit of bondage again to fear, but you received the Spirit of adoption by whom we cry out, “Abba, Father.” (Romans 8:15 )
Are you in search of true love but can’t find it with anyone, not even your family, your spouse, or your child despite all the love and care you have given them? Do you end up getting rejected despite being true to yourself? Has anyone ever disappointed you for not returning the favor you have given them?
We tend to put a lot of expectations on the people around us, especially our fellow Christians. Yet most of the time, people end up hurting one another and fighting. Unfortunately, a lot of miscommunications, offenses, and divisions happen in the Body of Christ itself. We might expect that every Christian is as loving as Jesus Christ, but we end up disappointed and hurt. Why do you think that happens? It’s because we fail to realize that the perfect love we are looking for can only be found in and given by God alone.
Ever since Adam and Eve doubted the goodness of God, the world has been longing for that state of perfection, which is actually the presence of the Father. Sin separated man from God. And by nature, this world has been corrupted, orphaned, and fathered by Satan, the original orphan who rebelled against God by wanting to be God (Isaiah 14:12-13). Since then, every human has been an orphan and, at a certain point in life, struggles to search for that perfect love and perfect place to be. The truth is that it can never be found in this fallen world.
But that was not the end of our story. God, in His loving nature, made a redemption plan to bring back His lost kids by sending His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ, to the world to be the answer for every struggle, fear, and insecurity we have embraced. Jesus was sent as an answer to our sins, to all kinds of sins, and then He resurrected from the dead to bring us back into the loving arms of our Heavenly Father.

For a long time, we have not been home (the presence of the Father). And we have been living a life in survival mode, independent yet comfortless. We have lived in a reality in which no one was truly ever there to comfort us from the pain we feel deep in our hearts. That’s why we are looking for love, approval, and acceptance from other people, not realizing that we’ve all became an orphan looking for the same thing.
But you don’t have to continue living as an orphan anymore, for Jesus said he will not leave us alone (John 14:18 I will not leave you orphans; I will come to you.). You don’t have to expect that perfect love from anyone because you now know that it is our Father’s love that you have been looking for. You don’t have to live independently from now on, trying to control your own life, for our Father is always looking out for all the needs of His children. Jesus Christ said in (John 14:6 Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.) that He is the way to the Father. Jesus is showing us to a destination, and that destination is back into the arms of our Heavenly Father.
What would you like to say to the Father? What is burning in your heart to say to Him right now?
