How to Pray for God’s Protection

Whether you are praying for the protection of yourself or someone else, know that it is God’s will to protect people always. He never desires or intends for anyone to get harm for the Lord said in Jeremiah 29:11, “For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.” Knowing and receiving this truth allows the protection and the hand of God to move mightily upon our lives, and we can make effective intercessions on behalf of others.

Jeremiah 29:11, “For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.”

When your faith is backed by the knowledge of His Word, the spirit of doubt cannot penetrate your mind; therefore, here are 10 Bible verses for you to declare and meditate upon as you simply come to God in prayer and ask Him for His protection:

  4. Psalm 91:2 – 4 – I will say of the Lord, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust. Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, and from the noisome pestilence. He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth shall be thy shield and buckler.

Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever.
  9. Psalm 5:11 – But let all those that put their trust in thee rejoice: let them ever shout for joy, because thou defendest them: let them also that love thy name be joyful in thee.
  10. Psalm 57:1 – Be merciful unto me, O God, be merciful unto me: for my soul trusteth in thee: yea, in the shadow of thy wings will I make my refuge, until these calamities be overpast.
