LIVING AS GODS CHILDREN
Living as GOD’s children is not something that we can choose and go buying in a marketplace; it is an invitation to us who are not qualified for that honor at all. GOD is the most pure of all, the Most Holy of all and the Most High of all. Close your eyes for a minute and think, are we worthy of anything? Are we qualified to choose to be GOD’s children? Can we post an application to be GOD’s children if we were never invited by Him to be so? Please praise the Lord, this is solely His mercy towards us; we got it as a gift from the almighty father and we should not neglect it.
Now living as GOD’s children is not to speak GOD’s words, not only that. We should walk His ways. Tell me how you will identify the children of a politician? Tell me how you will identify the children of a scientist? Have you ever come across a child, spent a few minutes with the child and then guessed it was the child of someone you know? I have seen children, and I was able to guess at the first 2 seconds that they were born to the people who I knew. I asked the children their fathers’ names, and I was amazed to see how identical they were to their fathers.
Who is your father? Can someone that knows GOD come to you, look at you, spend a few minutes with you and say that you are a child of GOD? If they can, then you are a child of GOD. The point here is, children behave like parents, children have the image of the parents, and children reflect parents. For us to live as GOD’s children, it is important to reflect GOD.
GOD is merciful, GOD hates sins, helps the needy, loves all, never fails, trust worthy, the most holy, etc. do we reflect these qualities in our life? ”But when he saw many of the Pharisees and Sadducees come to his baptism, he said unto them, O generation of vipers, who hath warned you to flee from the wrath to come? Bring forth therefore fruits meet for repentance: And think not to say within yourselves, We have Abraham to our father: for I say unto you, that God is able of these stones to raise up children unto Abraham” (Matthew 3:7-9 KJV).
Please brothers and sisters don’t think that because we are in the church, that we are GOD’s children; that is what people thought in the days of Jesus and John the Baptist. But we read in the Bible that John called them vipers and told them that GOD would make children for Abraham from stones! Yes, our GOD can do it, take it so seriously, that we actually live rather than pretending to live. We can fool the crowd, we can make a show with our prayers, but it is the heart that the Lord looks at and He wants our deeds, and not words. Let us learn to live like Gods child
