You Have The Mind Of Christ

Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things. Philippians 4:8

All battle begins in the mind. When our soul is out of peace, we know that the flesh is working, and it all begins in the mind. Sometimes, the pressure of the world, the negativity of the atmosphere, and the whispered lies of the enemy can penetrate our minds every day when we are not yielded to the Holy Spirit through God’s Word.

It is only through the Word of God that we are able to guard our hearts and minds, for God’s Word is “quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart” (Hebrews 4:12 For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.). Sometimes, we get messed up inwardly and become emotionally controlled the whole day because our minds are focused on the wrong things.

Philippians 4:8 reminds us of the things that we are to think about and ponder each day: “Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.”

When our thoughts are all about assumptions, made-up situations, cruel conversations (whether they happen in reality or not), or the negative things that worry, scare, anger, or threaten us, that’s when we immediately take every thought captive to the obedience of Christ (2 Corinthians 10:5 Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;). For negative thoughts are not true, honest, just, pure, lovely, and of good report. Meditate on Philippians 4:8 and make every word a category for every thought that comes to your mind. If it doesn’t seem to fit in, then discard the thought or take it into Christ’s captivity.

As you do this, you will notice that the heaviness will be gone and the manifestations of body aches and headaches will be gone too. Your thoughts are magnificent, wonderful, and beautiful because as a Child of God, you have the mind of Christ (1 Corinthians 2:16 For who hath known the mind of the Lord, that he may instruct him? but we have the mind of Christ.).

For who hath known the mind of the Lord, that he may instruct him? but we have the mind of Christ.
