The One Thing That Will Never Be Taken From You
“The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.” — John 10:10 (KJV)
Did you know that the enemy becomes afraid when you begin to speak and declare the Word of God in faith? The enemy submits to the authority and power of God’s Word. That’s why he fears hearing it spoken by a child of God.
Have you ever noticed that right after you’ve read or heard the Word of God—perhaps during a sermon—something opposite seems to happen in your life? Situations suddenly arise that tempt you to question or doubt God’s Word and His promises. John 10:10 says, “The thief comes to steal, to kill, and to destroy.” The enemy is actually after the Word of God that has been planted in your life. The moment you believe it and continue to declare it, he loses his grip. His lies lose their power over you because he must submit to the truth of that Word.
The enemy fears you discovering the faithfulness of God through His Word. That’s why he uses situations and people to distract you, to make you doubt, and to believe his lies. But Jesus said, “I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.” It is Jesus who always brings life to your situation. He rescues you from the lies of the enemy. Jesus—the Word made flesh—is the one the enemy can never take from you.
Jesus Christ is the greatest Word ever planted in the hearts of believers. He remains, no matter what the enemy attempts. Everything in this world is subject to decay, corruption, theft, and destruction—but your faith in the Son of God is eternal. Christ Jesus and His words will remain forever (Matthew 24:35 Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away.).

Therefore, it is only through Christ that you can stand firm on God’s promises. Only through Him can you remain at peace amid life’s storms. And through Him, life will always come. Apart from Jesus Christ, the promise is incomplete and cannot be fulfilled.
So stay rooted in Him. Keep your eyes fixed on Jesus—whether you’re waiting on an answered prayer, contending for His promises, or living in the fulfillment of them. Let Christ be magnified above all in your life. He alone can never be taken from you. He is the Word made flesh, forever risen, and desiring a relationship with you for a lifetime.
