GROWING SPIRITUALITY WITH GOD

Romans 8:29, “From the very beginning God decided that those who came to him – and all along he knew who would – should become like his Son.”

Romans 15:5, “May God develop maturity in you, so that you get along with each other as well as Jesus gets along with us all.”

1 Thessalonians 5:11, “Encourage each other and build each other up.”

We’re not designed to go thru life alone – and we’re not designed to GROW spiritually alone.

A lot of people are lonely – lonely people. Some are here today.

People don’t thrive on loneliness – we thrive on love, encouragement, support, affection, and care (marriages, families, friendships, on the job).

The way people GROW spiritually is the way our marriages, families, and other relationships grow.

What I’m going to share today relates to our spiritual growth but probably to every other area of our life that needs growth – marriage, relationships with our kids, and with others.

There’s a reason people desire friendship, companionship, and even marriage – we were designed for deep and meaningful relationships and it takes others to help us grow as human beings and as believers. There’s a reason babies are born into families – babies need what others provide. AND SO DO WE.

The spirit of the world is to put down, to reject, to compare and judge.

The Spirit of Christ is just the opposite.

God’s ways are not the world’s ways – God’s love isn’t what the world offers. God’s life isn’t what the world offers. God’s power isn’t what the world offers? God’s encouragement isn’t what the world offers.
