WHAT A SHEPHERD AND THE SHEEP

Most of us might have read Psalm 23 over and over. But there is something more to it than just what we see. This article gives a brief and detailed explanation of Psalm 24

1.The Lord is my Shepherd

That’s Relationship! Go wants a relationship with us that last for ever. That is one of the main reasons why He gives us eternal life in the Spirit. In Heaven He would continue to be our Shepherd. We are the spiritual sheep

2.I shall not want

That’s Supply!The Bible makes it clear that we should not worry about tomorrow. God provides for the sparrows and He would provide for us. When we are found wanting then it means we are not relying on His promises. We have to have faith in what the word of God says.

3.He maketh me to lie down in green pastures.

That’s Rest!God didnt make us to just go to work, come back home, spend time with our family and go back to work the next morning. He did not create us to have such a boring routine. After all these he wants us to take a rest in Him.  In His is life. Let us learn to rest in Him

4.He leadeth me beside the still waters.

That’s Refreshment!Have you ever worked so hard that you know that you need some refreshment. In the time of refreshment that is when we gain energy to do what is going happen next. We cannot keep working without getting refreshed. The best form of refreshment is God refreshment

5.He restoreth my soul

That’s Healing! God is a God who heals. One of the names of God is God our Healer. He is not the one who puts sickness on us. That is the work o the devil. God wants to restore every broken soul, He wants us to come to Him boldly. The power to heal is in the name of Jesus

6. He leadeth me in the paths of righteousness.

That’s Guidance!God is the one who guides us. He is the one who wants to go before us to prepare the way so we can have a smooth journey.But before it can happen we have to allow Him. We are righteous through Jesus.

7.For His name sake

That’s Purpose! Our purpose in life can be found only in God. He is the one who created us and He created us for a purpose. Without Him our life is without purpose and without meaning. We can attain everything in this world but if it is without God, it is complete vanity

8. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death.

That’s Testing!When we go through test we grow in the Lord. God would not bring test on our intentionally but when they came He is there to lead us peacefully to the end

9. I will fear no evil.

That’s Protection!The Bible repeats 365 that we should fear not. That is what God wants us to live. He wants us to be people who are full of love and perfect love cast out fear.

10. For Thou art with me

That’s Faithfulness! God has promised to never leave us nor forsake. He is a faithful God and we must be faithful sons as well.

11. Thy rod and Thy staff they comfort me,

That’s Discipline!Gods form of discipline is not punishment. A tree that is pruned bears bigger fruit and when God disciplines us it means He has something greater for us so we have to exercise patient.

12. Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of my enemies.

That’s Hope! God is our Hope. He is the God who never disappoints. God will prepare a table in front of our enemies if we obey what He says. In Him is all the hope we can find to live a life that is pleasing in this world

13. Thou anointest my head with oil,

That’s Consecration!God has made each and everyone unique and He has placed His anointing on the inside of us. He wants us to walk in this anointing all the time. He is a God who makes all things possible through the Holy Spirit

14.My cup runneth over.

That’s Abundance!With God we know we are walking in abundance. His will is that we have whatever that is in Heaven right here on earth. He is a provider who never runs out of resources.

15. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of mylife.

That’s Blessing! God has blessed us with every spiritual blessing we will ever need. We have to walk in faith and walk in His grace. His mercy is always new every morning.

16. And I will dwell in the house of the Lord.

That’s Security! Dwelling in Gods house means full security. What can come against us if we are under the umbrella of the Almighty. His security exceeds every form of security in this world.

17. Forever!

That’s Eternity! We will spend eternity with God, discovering Him and getting to know Him better. But it all starts from this life. We have to give our life to Him so He works through us.
