WHY WE SHOULD LEARN TO FORGIVE?

learning to forgive others

As far as you keep being angry at someone that did something wrong to you, you are giving them a free space in your heart for them to reside. They live there as long as you allow them and cause you all sort of troubles. Your day to day activities are affected, you remember them at no cost at every instant of your day and they keep on degrading you; bad for someone who wants to live a peaceful life!
In the Christian perspective, Jesus said that before going to GOD, get these people out of your mind by going and having a good conversation with those people. Moreover if thy brother shall trespass against thee, go and tell him his fault between thee and him alone: if he shall hear thee, thou hast gained thy brother (Matthew 18:15 KJV). You are not suppose to suffer; you are suppose to be joyful in our savior. What most of us do is we keep collecting piling up this bitterness and we give more room for people to live in our hearts only to hurt us. GOD has chosen us all to be kings! We are supposed to rule with him for a thousand years. How are we going to sit with the king of kings and rule the world when we cannot forgive a single one of our brothers or sisters? And hast made us unto our God kings and priests: and we shall reign on the earth (Revelations 5:10 KJV)
We should be like our King. God forgives, no matter what you have done. What kind of example are we going to set up for our children and the younger generation if we do not teach them to be people who should forgive? What kind of excuse are we going to give to our savior who has forgiven even the people who literally killed them?
My brothers and sisters, it is important to learn to forgive. We can learn it from nowhere but from Jesus; He is the only way for us. If we do not realize the fact that we are chosen to be the children of the most pure, most righteous and the most honest and the most holy of all, we are not going to lead a successful Christian life. For GOD, his children are more important than anything; just anything! And he made us all in his image. We are all the same in his view. When we do offend one of our brothers or sisters, He is going to look at it as we hurting another one of his children. It is something we should not do. God has forgiven us much and we should learn to forgive no matter what. Even Jesus gave the example that we should forgive at 70×7 in a day which already tells us that we should not keep account.
Be a forgiver. Don’t hold a grudge against anyone. Let the love of God flow in you every time. Learn to look at people like the way God looks at them.
