HOW TO OVERCOME EVIL WITH GOOD

The Bible starts with talking about what GOD did in the beginning. And the Bible says that GOD saw whatever He made was good; nothing evil. What was evil was the snake that made Eve to make up her mind and deceive Adam into eating it. To begin with how to overcome evil with good, it is important to know why overcoming evil is good. Basically evil is satanic and good is from GOD. We are people of GOD, so we need to do the good; moreover, evil is satanic, and Satan is the enemy of GOD; so he is the enemy of his people too, that’s us. So with the power of GOD, we can overcome Satan, the same way, with good we can overcome evil, and we should. “And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat” (genesis 3: 6 KJV).
What can be more evil than killing a man; taking a life that GOD has gifted? And what can be better than forgiving someone that killed you? Very odd, but that is what happened to Jesus as evil and that is what He gave back to the people who killed Him. Jesus overcame the most evil thing with the best thing; forgiveness (Daniel Chapter 3 describes the story)
As in the example of Jesus forgiving the roman soldiers, forgiveness is the proven way to overcome more evil. But, being obedient to GOD will help us overcome evil too; the example of Daniel and his friends thrown into the fire can explain this. The king was convinced to throw them into the fire, but Daniel and his friends did nothing wrong, they obeyed GOD; they respected the commandments and did not worship anything but GOD almighty. What did they do? Because of GOD saving them from the flames, the king was shocked, and believed that the GOD of Daniel and his friends was the true GOD; and the king ordered that everyone should worship the true and only GOD.
Praying for people is another good thing we can do to overcome the evil. Jesus did it when hanging on the cross; He prayed that God should forgive them for they know not what they were doing. We can do it too; when someone does something evil to us, we can always pray to our GOD to forgive them. Our father in heaven will be proud of us, and then He will forgive those people for us. By doing these things, we will understand how to overcome evil with good. “Then said Jesus, Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do. And they parted his raiment, and cast lots” (Luke 23:34 KJV). This is how we can overcome evil with good.
