HOW TO MAKE GOOD DECISIONS: CHRISTIANS

Decision making is the most important and critical part in any operation. Be it a political, business, administrative or military operation. We as Christians do not have different strategies for decision making or choices. We have only one rule; our decisions should be in compliance with the guidelines of our creator; GOD.
There are multiple ways of doing the wrong thing. As believers the right way to do things is to allow God to guide us. We make mistakes. GOD is not like that. He wants us to make stronger and good decisions like Him. What does the Bible say about making decisions?

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight” (Proverbs 3: 5-6 NIV)
Actually GOD takes the responsibility of guiding us in the right path. GOD even has plans for us. We do not know in advance what is going to happen to us in the future; but GOD does. That is why He has plans for us. If we are very ignorant and do not listen to Him we fail. But if we listen to him, we will gain; definitely. “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future” (Jeremiah 29:11 NIV)

The other thing is that most Christians forget that their lives really belong to GOD and not them. Some think that they have been saved from sin, so they are free; it is wrong. Anyone that is a Christians is summoned to Christ, that our wishes are not really ours; our lives are not really ours. We live for Christ that is when we are Christ-ians. If not, why are we called Christians? The Bible says what our wishes, choices and decisions should be like.
“So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God. Do not cause anyone to stumble, whether Jews, Greeks or the church of God— even as I try to please everyone in every way. For I am not seeking my own good but the good of many, so that they may be saved” (1 Corinthians 10: 31-33 NIV)

The words are so clear that we do it all for the glory of our GOD. Nothing for us; it is so crystal clear. If we ever had our own desires by which our decisions are influenced, then those decisions, choices or plans were not really good in front of GOD. The people of this world may tell you that you are the best decision maker the earth has ever seen, but if you don’t put the glory of GOD in the first place, then your decision is not good.
