BIBLE VERSES FOR ENCOURAGEMENT IN HARD TIMES

Millions of Christians across the globe do turn to the Bible in hard times. This is not by default but for a good reason. The teachings available in the Bible through stories, proverbs and warnings have benefited many in hard times. Bible verses for encouragement have in particular given hope and given many Christians the strength they need to overcome most of the challenges that they face in life. 1. Joshua 1: 9 – Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of good courage; be not frightened, neither be dismayed; for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.

2. 2 Timothy 1: 7 – For Go did not give us a spirit of timidity but a spirit of power and love and self-control.

3. Psalms 121: 1-8 – I lift my eyes up to the hills. From whence does my help come? My help comes from the Lord, who made heaven and earth. He will not let your foot be moved, he who keeps you will not slumber. Behold he who keeps Israel will not slumber nor sleep. The Lord is your keeper; the Lord is your shade on your right hand. The sun shall not smite you by day, nor the moon by night. The Lord will keep you from all evil; he will keep your life. The Lord will keep your going out and your coming in from this time forth and for evermore.

4. Proverbs 30: 5 – Every word of God proves true; he is a shield to those who take refuge in him.

5. Psalms 28: 7 – The Lord is my strength and my shield; in him my heart trusts; so I am helped, and my heart exults, and with my song I give thanks to him.

6. Psalms 34: 4 – I sought the Lord, and he answered me, and delivered me from all my fears.

7. Philippians 4: 13 – I can do all things in him who strengthens me.

8. Romans 15: 13 – May the God of Hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope.

9. Jeremiah 29 : 11-14 – For I know the plans I have or you, says the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope. Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will hear you. You will seek me and find me; when you seek me with all your heart, I will be found by you, says the Lord, and I will restore your fortunes and gather you from all the nations and all the places where I have driven you, says the Lord, and I will bring you back to the place from which I sent you into exile.
