THE PEACE OF GOD IN YOUR LIFE
1. Peace –A Blessing
Romans 1:7, NIV –“… Grace and peace to you from God our Father and from the Lord Jesus Christ.”
2. Peace –Absence From All Strife
“Peace” is used 142 times in the Old Testament.; 87 times in the New Testament.
Old Testament. = “Shaloam”= “completeness, soundness, wellness, peace”
New Testament. = “Eire_ne_” = “to be at peace, to live at peace, wellness, wholeness”
Peace = “absence from all strife”, whether it be emotional strife, spiritual strife, physical strife (sickness), relational strife
Peace = To live a life that is in complete order, and completely whole and balanced
3. Peace – God’s Will For Our Lives
1 Thessalonians 5:23, NRSV –“May the God of peace himself sanctify you entirely; and may your spirit and soul [mind, will and emotions] and body be kept sound [whole] and blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ..”
4. Peace –Rest On Every Side
2 Chronicles 20:30, NIV –“And the kingdom of Jehoshaphat was at peace, for his God had given him rest on every side.”
THE POWER OF PEACE
1. The Protecting Power Of God’s Peace
Philippians 4:7, NIV –“And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”
God’s peace will guard your hearts from fear, from anxiety, from despair, and your minds from worry, from obsessing, from confusion
2. The Confirming Power Of God’s Peace
Philippians 4:9, NIV –“Whatever you have learned or received or heard from me, or seen in me –put it into practice. And the God of peace will be with you.”
Take your options which seem to please God, and present them to the Lord, and see where God reveals His peace
3. The Purifying Power Of God’s Peace
1 Thessalonians 5:23, NIV –“May God himself, the God of peace, sanctify you through and through [entirely]. May your whole spirit, soul and body be kept blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.”
When God’s peace reigns in our lives, we are able to always respond in godly ways, and as a result, we are purified, and kept blameless — without guilt, without shame, without regret
4. The Liberating Power Of Peace
Mark 5:34, NASB –“And He said to her, ‘Daughter, your faith has made you well; go in peace, and be healed of your affliction.’”
God’s peace is not just our answer to illness, it’s our answer to the afflictions and torments that cause our illnesses in the first place
5. The Breaking Power Of God’s Peace
Romans 16:20, NIV –“The God of peace will soon crush Satan under your feet.”
Peace will crush Satan’s activity in your minds, emotions, spirits, bodies, relationships — When Satan tries to crush you, crush him with God’s peace
When God’s peace is released into a situation, it will SOON crush Satan in that situation
Peace of God will dismantle Satan’s attacks against us, until they become powerless
