Miracles That Come Through Thankfulness

And they said to Him, “We have here only five loaves and two fish.” He said, “Bring them here to Me.” Then He commanded the multitudes to sit down on the grass. And He took the five loaves and the two fish, and looking up to heaven, He blessed and broke and gave the loaves to the disciples; and the disciples gave to the multitudes. So they all ate and were filled, and they took up twelve baskets full of the fragments that remained. Now those who had eaten were about five thousand men, besides women and children. Matthew 14:17-21

The only way to overcome this is to have the Word of God renew your mind and stir up your faith. When you have faith, you can command that mountain of problems to move out of your life. Jesus said in Matthew 21:21-22, “Verily I say unto you, If ye have faith, and doubt not, ye shall not only do this which is done to the fig tree, but also if ye shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; it shall be done. And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive.”

Jesus taught us the kind of lifestyle that leads to wholeness and peace in our soul. And one of Jesus’ greatest attitudes in life is being thankful to the Father always. Do you remember the story about two fishes and five loaves? It is one of His greatest and most famous miracles He performed when He was here on Earth: “And they say unto him, We have here but five loaves, and two fishes. He said, Bring them hither to me. And he commanded the multitude to sit down on the grass, and took the five loaves, and the two fishes, and looking up to heaven, he blessed, and brake, and gave the loaves to his disciples, and the disciples to the multitude. And they did all eat, and were filled: and they took up of the fragments that remained twelve baskets full. And they that had eaten were about five thousand men, beside women and children” (Matthew 14:17-21).

If you look at their situation, it should have been impossible to feed 5,000 people with five loaves and two fishes. Yet Jesus did not even care about the situation of having lack because He knew the truth: the Father would provide what they needed. That’s why He simply looked up into the heavens and thanked the Father for their food. Thus, a miracle happened. The Father did not disappoint Jesus along with the five thousand, for they all ate and were filled, having 12 more baskets that were full.

You see, Jesus did not allow the situation of lack to ruin the day. Instead, He simply thanked the Father for what they had, believing that the God who does impossible things would provide for them. And He really did.

Miracles and breakthroughs can happen when you are thankful even for the little you have, knowing that God “shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus” (Philippians 4:19 And my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.). Don’t let your situation rule over you; instead, begin to thank the Father and praise Him for all His blessings and for His provisions. Then, see heaven move through your situation.

And my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.
