Is God Ever Mad at You for being a Sinner?

Do you always imagine God getting angry or getting mad at you because of your wrong doings? Does that make you feel distant towards God that you find it better not to go to church or pray at night? Our mindset of who God is will really affect the way we perceive Him and even perceive life. We are shaped by different ideologies, beliefs and religious backgrounds which are often passed on from our ancestors. But that only lasts until you are born again in Spirit.

“I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvelous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well” (Psalm 139:14 KJV).

The Bible indeed tells us that God is angry at the work of sins but He is never mad with sinners. In fact, God made a way for all sinners to be saved from their sins – He gave His One and only Begotten Son, Jesus Christ whom by having a relationship with Him, you can overcome the work of sins in your life and gain an everlasting life through the Him (see John 3:16-18 and 1 Cor. 15:57).

God is not mad at you because you are weak or that you have done so many sins. God already dealt with the sins of the whole world 2000 years ago when His Son, Jesus Christ willingly sacrificed His life through crucifixion on the cross as payment for our sins. And that includes your sins and all your weaknesses.

Christ is now your strength and He can wash all away your sins and give you a new life just as God has resurrected him from the dead. Since Christ defeated death, nothing evil can overcome him; and those who believe in Jesus share in this victory.

This is how much God loves you. He is never mad at you for who you are. He is your Maker who created you fearfully and wonderfully:

“I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvelous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well” (Psalm 139:14 KJV).

Simply come to God in prayer and be honest; be yourself. Confess your sins to Him and ask for His forgiveness and get ready to receive Jesus Christ in your life and witness the transformation God will do in your life. And do not think that God will never forgive you for the great sins you have done for the Scripture says, “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness” (1 John 1:9 KJV).

Prayer:

Heavenly Father,
Thank You for your great love for mankind. Thank You for giving us Your One and Only Son Jesus Christ that we may have eternal life and be forgiven of our sins. I receive Jesus Christ in my life to be the Lord and Savior for I cannot save myself from my sins and I cannot overcome it without him. Lord, you know me, including all the wrong doings that I have done in my life. Forgive me of my sins Lord and wash me clean. I desire to overcome the work of sins in my life and I believe that through you, Lord Jesus, I can be transformed. I receive Your forgiveness, mercies, love, compassion and goodness in my life and all the blessings that is to come. Thank You Father, for I am now a child of God. In Jesus’ mighty name. Amen!
