MATURITY IS EXPENSIVE

There are no shortcuts to maturity.
It has often been said that maturity does not come with age. Others also say wisdom and experience comes with age. The question is “are there any shortcuts to maturity? I believe there are no shortcuts to maturity and growth. We all have to endure the process. Jesus came to earth as God and Saviour of mankind but He had to grow just like any other person.

It takes years for us to grow to adulthood, and it takes a full season for fruit to mature and ripen. The same is true for the fruit of the Spirit. The development of Christlike character cannot be rushed. A lot of people want to rush with Spiritual gifts but that is not the way it should be. God wants us to be matured in the Spirit as well.Spiritual growth, like physical growth, takes time.

When you try to ripen fruit quickly, it loses its flavor and it also loses its originality. In the world today , tomatoes are usually picked unripened so they won’t bruise during shipping to the stores. Then, before they are sold, these green tomatoes are sprayed with CO2 gas to turn them red instantly. Gassed tomatoes are edible, but they are no match to the flavor of a vine-ripened tomato that is allowed to mature slowly. The same goes for the other fruits like banana, grapes and oranges.

While we worry about how fast we grow, God is concerned about how strong we grow. God views our lives from and for eternity, so he is never in a rush or in a hurry. Learn to wait and learn to be patient. Our Christlikedness is not a rushing process but a process of patience. It takes patience to grow to become like Christ. I pray God would open the eyes of your understanding and stay blessed always.

Have a happy day!
