DESTRUCTION IS ON YOUR WAY WITH PRIDE
Psalm 51, “The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit, a broken and a contrite heart — these, O God, You will not despise.”
This is another powerful revelation by David, the man after Gods own heart. God wants the sacrifice of a broken spirit. Brokenness does not mean we are useless and cant be used in any way. A broken heart is a surrender heart
BROKEN people are quick to admit their faults and to seek forgiveness. Without a heart of brokenness people become full of pride.
BROKEN people are compassionate, they forgive much.
BROKEN people get great pleasure telling others how much they mean to them. It does hurt much to tell people how much they mean to us
BROKEN people are genuinely happy in their heart when others are honored, when they’re lifted up. A person who can truly be happy for another is someone who knows who he or she is
BROKEN people are desperate to know God, because they know how spiritually empty they are without the life & power of God in them by the Holy Spirit.
The Bible basically talk about two people. The broken person and the prideful person. PRIDE builds walls between God and us, and between others and us. PRIDE becomes a closed door for people but BROKENNESS tears down those walls.
PRIDE blinds but BROKENNESS opens our eyes to see who we are and who God really is. Let us tear down every form of pride
The Scriptures tell us that God is distant from those with a proud heart but is attracted to those with a broken and a contrite heart. For us to know God we have to go to him according to the ways He has layed down for us. We cant go to God in our own way. It is only through Jesus.
Someone wrote, “Brokenness is not a feeling or an emotion. Rather, it requires a choice, an act of the will. This choice is not primarily a one-time experience, though there may be profound and life-changing spiritual turning points in our lives. True brokenness is an ongoing, constant way of life. True brokenness is a lifestyle, a moment-by-moment lifestyle of agreeing with God about the true condition of my heart and life – not as everyone else thinks it is but as God knows it to be.”
Powerful statement to think about. It is life changing.
